Moleskine Monday 6!

November 23, 2015

Well, la-di-DA! Look at all that color, huh? This week's Moleskine Monday had me playing with some Copic markers for some full-color fun. This page started with some doodling in green and (d)evolved into a technicolor miasma of tendrils, hair, eyeballs, hands and various other abstract and anatomical details. I've very happy with the way this one looks and I'm going to do more like this in the future. Stay tooned!

Come back next week for more Moleskine selections. Click here to see the entire Moleskine Monday series.

Moleskine Monday 5!

November 16, 2015

Welcome back to another edition of Moleskine Monday. Since I've stuck to this series long enough now, I'm going to begin numbering them. Let's see how high this will go, shall we?

This week, we're shedding light on a darker corner of the sketchbook. A flayed young man!? Really? No, actually, this page is a disturbing look at what might happen if we had gills separating our ribs. Rather than the fish gills which open to reveal tendrils whose surface area bring Oxygen into the body, I sort of see these being skin flaps that open to reveal very small tubules leading directly to the lungs.

To see what other crazy rabbit holes I've explored in the pages of my Moleskine sketchbook, come back next week. You can always click here to see previous posts in the series.

Moleskine Monday 4!

November 9, 2015

Welcome back to another installment of Moleskine Monday! Like most of these, it's really difficult to account for what I was thinking of when I did this. I honestly don't recall! I started drawing the evil looking smiling guy and then I think I wanted to draw him from different angles. Getting to the back of his head I revealed it was open and leaking…well, um…whatever that is. These things develop organically without too much internal editorializing. The final element was making the whole thing sprout from another larger head.

Thanks for looking and come back next Monday for the next episode!

Moleskine Monday 3!

November 2, 2015

Welcome to another installment of Moleskine Mondays! For whatever reason I got into drawing manticores. A manticore is a mythical creature with the face of a human and the body of a lion…with wings. It's often shown with a scorpion like tail as well but I didn't draw that here. What I did draw, however, is a Hillary Clintocore. She's got a beard. Have a great Monday, everyone!

Moleskine Monday 2!

October 26, 2015

Your guess is as good as mine with this one! These pages sort of (d)evolve from a single drawing and in this case it was the 'Inferiosa' that kicked everything off. I also remember that I was so angry after I drew the fella saying, "I Ruin Everything" that I left the page and moved on. I think it was a few days later that I took another look at him and saw there might be potential for more and here are the results. Enjoy!

More Godzilla sketching…

October 21, 2015

It's not really a secret that I've been looking for work; particularly another monthly series to flesh out my schedule. Here are a couple samples of Godzilla art. If all goes well you'll be seeing more of this guy by me. Please share or 'like' if you enjoyed this post!

Moleskine Monday!

October 19, 2015

In the interest of keeping the site vital with new content almost every day, I'll share a sketchbook scan every Monday morning as part of an ongoing feature called, Moleskine Mondays. I'm a sucker for alliteration. Here's a page from a little while back probably done while sitting in front of the television. Apparently I had thing about facial hair!
