So here are the final, toned pages! You'll probably notice a big jump from the inks to the tones. That's because I use the toning of the pages as my last opportunity to make some final tweaks and to breath life into the black and white world of the inks. WIth Borrowed Time, there are two toning treatments, one to represent the world in which we live and the second to render the alternate world in which Taylor is lost. The first world is comprised of mostly flat shades of gray with some subtle gradation to reflect a clean and well defined everyday world. The second reality, rendered in rough and coarse chalky shading is far more mysterious and appears to be of questionable veracity.
